The War on Cancer
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009Since 1971 when President Johnson declared war on cancer, our nation has spent billions of dollars in taxes and donations to fight this worst disease in the history of mankind. Since then, conventional treatment (chemo, radiation, and surgery) has helped many patients. However, during this time, the mortality rate has changed very little. We continue to lose over 1550 victims each day–over one per minute–in America. Convetional medicine, practiced exclusive of any complementary methodology, is not working. A relatively small number of doctors and medical researchers are pursuing integrative oncology which involves numerous options of complementary treatment that enhances conventional. I believe strongly that this has to be the future of cancer treatment if we are ever going to defeat this formidable enemy. Still, the medical establishment, from doctors to researchers to educators, to pharmacists, is reluctant to go there. We must have a grassroots movement to demand this change. What do you think?
