It is very questionable the rights humans are allowed with their own body. It is not the parent 'making' the decision for the child but enabling it for them, while the government says "no, you're not old enough to make that decision and we will take you from your home and force our treatments on you in the name of your safety." If a child is old enough to die, than they are old enough to decide how to live.

I remember the state tried to force my brother to take ADD meds because he was disrupted to the classroom. My parents fought a long battle, and finally won, but their rights and insights as parents were never valued. America pushes for the quick fix, the pill pop, the backwards add something new to heal, instead of the removing of the poor environment that caused the disease in the first place. Hopefully our rights as humans to choose how we live and die will be heard someday here.
